Hi, I'm Jessie. I'm a stylist.
Why can hair be curly, wavy or straight?
Hair can be straight, wavy, or curly.
When your hair is washed, the shampoo should go mostly on the skin of your head. This is called your scalp. Rubbing your wet hair hard with a towel can break the hairs. A gentle squeeze with the towel is better.
Some hair, like curly hair, can get tangled more easily. A comb with wide teeth helps get knots out gently. You can work on one small part of your hair at a time.
Hairstyles should not pull on your scalp. Finding what works best for your own hair can take some time. It feels good to let your hair be its own shape.
