Hello, my name is Luz Ospina. I'm a nurse.

Why is the first visit so long?

A first visit at a naturopathic, functional or integrative practice covers your health as a whole, not just one concern. Much of it is a detailed talk, and there is a lot to cover.

The provider often goes over your health history, family history, medicines and supplements. They also ask about food, sleep, stress, digestion, exercise and daily habits, along with your goals. A physical exam may follow, and lab tests are sometimes ordered. The visit often ends with a plan.

Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your provider can tell you what applies to you.

Thanks for watching.
