Finbarr Whelan Acupuncturist
Transcript
Hello, my name is Finbarr Whelan. I'm an acupuncturist.
What happens at a first acupuncture visit?
A first acupuncture visit usually starts with forms about health history and medicines. The acupuncturist then asks questions and may look at the tongue and feel the pulse at both wrists.
Next, the patient often lies on a padded table in loose clothing. The acupuncturist often cleans the skin first, then places very thin, sterile needles that are used only once. The needles stay in while the patient rests, and the visit often ends with a talk about next steps.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your acupuncturist can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
