Transcript

Hello, my name is Mira. I'm a zookeeper.

Why is the animal sleeping?

Many zoo animals sleep or rest during the day, and that is normal for them. Some animals, like bats and many owls, are awake at night instead. Big cats, like lions, spend much of the day resting. On hot days, lots of animals nap in the shade to stay cool.

You can use a soft voice and stand still. Then you might spot an ear twitch or a tail flick. Sometimes an animal wakes up when a keeper brings food.

Thanks for watching!
