Transcript

Hi, I'm Paora, a conductor.

What happens at my first rehearsal?

A rehearsal is when a choir, band or orchestra practices music together. Someone often shows you where to sit or stand with your section. Your section sings or plays the same part as you.

The group often starts with a warm-up. Then the conductor leads the music from the front. You can keep your eyes on the conductor's hands. The conductor might stop the group to work on a tricky spot, then start again.

At the end, you put away your music, and players pack up their instruments.

Thanks for watching!
