What is vocational rehabilitation?

Vocational rehabilitation helps people with disabilities get ready for work, find a job and keep it. Every state has a public program, and many local groups offer these services too.

A counselor usually talks with you about your interests, skills and the work you want. Together, you often write a plan with a job goal and the steps to reach it. Services might include job training, help with resumes and interviews, tools that make work easier, or a job coach.
