Transcript

Hello, my name is Dr. Pawlak. I'm a veterinarian.

What happens during a pet exam?

A pet exam often starts with a weight check and questions about eating, drinking, energy and changes at home. A technician or assistant may also take your pet's temperature.

The veterinarian then looks at the eyes, ears, mouth and teeth, and listens to the heart and lungs. They feel the belly and joints and check the skin and coat. Afterward, the veterinarian explains what they found and may suggest vaccines or tests.

Call the clinic if you have questions about your visit or your pet's care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your veterinarian can tell you what applies to your own pet.

Thanks for watching.
