Hello, my name is Douglas Pruett. I'm a vestibular therapist.
What happens at a vestibular evaluation?
A vestibular evaluation is a set of questions and tests about dizziness and balance, often done by a physical therapist. The therapist asks what the dizziness feels like, when it started and what brings it on.
The therapist may watch your eyes as they follow a moving target, sometimes using goggles that record eye movements. Some tests involve lying down or turning the head, and these may bring on dizziness. Balance is often checked while standing on firm and soft surfaces.
Call the clinic if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your therapist can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
