Hello, my name is Dr. Moskowitz. I'm a vascular physician.
What happens at a first vein visit?
A first vein visit looks at how blood moves through your veins, most often in the legs. It usually starts with questions about aching, swelling or visible veins, and about your health history.
A clinician then looks at your legs, often while you stand. Many first visits include an ultrasound, which uses gel and a handheld probe to show blood flow on a screen. Afterward, possible next steps are discussed, such as compression stockings or a procedure.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your vein specialist can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
