Hello, my name is Gian Singh Sohal. I'm a travel advisor.
How are you paid, and do you charge planning fees?
Travel agents are often paid a commission by the cruise lines, tour companies and hotels they book. That commission is paid by the supplier, not added as a separate charge to the traveler.
Many agents also charge a planning or service fee, especially for custom trips or for booking flights. Fees vary by agency and by trip. Some agencies count a planning fee toward the trip once it is booked. Agencies usually explain any fees before planning begins, often in a written agreement.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your service. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your travel agent can explain the fees for your own trip.
Thanks for watching.
