Hello, my name is Patricia Lourenco. I'm a caseworker.
Which programs can I apply for here?
Social services and benefits offices usually take applications for help with food, health coverage and cash assistance. Food help often comes through SNAP, health coverage through Medicaid, and cash help through a program for families with children.
Some offices also handle help with child care costs, heating bills or emergency needs. Program names and rules differ by state and county. One application sometimes covers more than one program, and a caseworker may go over it in an interview.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your service. This is general information, not personal instructions. Staff at your local office can explain what applies to your own household.
Thanks for watching.
