Hello, my name is Sandrine Lefevre. I'm a nurse.
What happens at the appointment?
An appointment at a family planning or sexual health clinic usually starts with a conversation with a clinician. You may be asked about your reason for coming, your health and sexual history, and any birth control you use.
Testing for sexually transmitted infections may involve a urine sample, a swab or a blood test. Birth control options are often discussed, and some methods may be started the same day. Some results come back later, and the clinic explains how they are shared.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your clinician can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
