Hello, my name is Lamont Shepherd. I'm a center director.
Who can join, and is there a membership fee?
A senior center is a community place where older adults take classes, share meals and spend time with others. Many are run by a city, a county or a nonprofit group.
Most centers are open to older adults, and the starting age differs from place to place. Joining is often free, though some centers ask for a yearly fee or a donation. Some classes, trips or meals might cost extra.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your service. This is general information, not personal instructions. The staff at your center can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
