Hi, I'm Klaus, a riding instructor.
What happens at my first riding lesson?
At a first riding lesson, you meet your instructor and a horse or pony. You usually wear a riding helmet that fits snugly.
You might help brush the horse before you ride. Then you climb on, often from a step called a mounting block. You can breathe slowly and listen to the instructor. The horse often walks around a fenced ring, and a helper might lead it.
At the end, you climb down with help and might give the horse a pat.
Thanks for watching!
