Hello, my name is Lori Jennings. I'm a physical therapist.
What does a day in inpatient rehab look like?
A day in inpatient rehab is built around therapy sessions, with meals and rest in between. Many units give each person a daily schedule of their sessions.
Mornings often begin with help washing and dressing, which can be practiced, too. Physical therapy works on strength, walking and balance, and occupational therapy on everyday tasks. Some people also see a speech therapist for talking, thinking or swallowing. Sessions are often in a therapy gym, either one on one or in small groups.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your therapy team can tell you what your own day includes.
Thanks for watching.
