Transcript

Hi, I'm Ms. Littlewolf. I'm a reading teacher.

Why do some kids find reading tricky?

Reading asks your brain to do several jobs at once. You match letters to sounds and blend them into words. For some kids, matching letters and sounds takes more practice. It is not about how smart they are.

A reading teacher helps you learn one small step at a time. You might say sounds, tap them out or build words with letter tiles. When a word looks long, you can say each sound slowly. Then you blend the sounds into the word.

Thanks for watching!
