Hello, my name is Stefano. I'm a head lifeguard.
What is the swim test?
A swim test shows a lifeguard that you can swim in deep water. Many pools ask for one before kids can use the deep end or a big slide.
Before you start, you can take a slow breath. Then a lifeguard watches while you swim a set distance, often across the pool. You might also need to float or tread water in one spot.
If you pass, you might get a wristband for the deep end. If not, you swim and play in the shallow part.
Thanks for watching!
