Transcript

Hello, my name is Dieter. I'm a children’s librarian.

Can I get my own library card?

A library card lets you borrow books and take them home. Many public libraries give cards to kids, not just grown-ups.

To get one, you and your grown-up go to the front desk. Your grown-up might fill out a form and show something with your home address. Some libraries ask kids to sign their name. You can write each letter slowly and carefully.

Your new card is often ready right away. At checkout, the card gets scanned, and your books go home with you.

Thanks for watching!
