Hello, my name is Dr. Germishuys. I'm a prosthodontist.
What does a prosthodontist do?
A prosthodontist is a dentist with extra years of training in repairing and replacing teeth. The work includes crowns, bridges, dentures and replacement teeth held in place by implants.
A first visit often includes an exam, X-rays and questions about chewing, comfort and the look of the smile. The prosthodontist may take impressions or digital scans to plan the work. New teeth are often made in a dental lab, so several visits for fittings and adjustments are common.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your dental team can explain what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
