Hello, my name is Dr. Mostafa. I'm a podiatrist.
What happens at a foot and ankle visit?
A foot and ankle visit often starts with questions about symptoms, daily activities, footwear and health conditions such as diabetes. Shoes and socks usually come off so both feet can be examined.
The podiatrist looks at the skin, nails and joints, presses on sore areas and may watch how the feet move during walking. X-rays are often taken in the office. Treatment might include shoe inserts, a brace or boot, medicines, or a small procedure such as treating an ingrown nail.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your podiatrist can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
