Transcript

Hi, I'm Everett. I'm a planetarium presenter.

Why is it so dark in here?

A planetarium is dark so the stars on the dome can shine brightly. The dome is a big, round ceiling where a projector shows the night sky.

Before the show, the lights often dim a little at a time. Small lights by the doors usually stay on. If the dark feels strange, you can hold your grown-up's hand. Then the stars come out above you.

As your eyes get used to the dark, you might see even more stars. When the show ends, the lights come back up.

Thanks for watching!
