Hello, my name is Marisol Robles. I'm a physical therapist.
What happens at a first physical therapy visit?
A first physical therapy visit is an evaluation, where the therapist learns about your injury, surgery or symptoms. Questions often cover daily tasks, work or sports, and what you hope to get back to doing.
The therapist may watch you walk or move, measure how far your joints bend, and test strength and balance. Then they explain what they found and suggest a plan with goals. Many people leave with a few exercises to start at home.
Call the clinic if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your physical therapist can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
