Hello, my name is Dr. Lacsamana. I'm a physiatrist.
What does a physiatrist do?
A physiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in rehab. The focus is how a person moves and handles daily life after an injury or illness, or with a lasting health problem.
A visit often starts with questions about daily tasks and goals. The exam checks strength, motion and reflexes. The physiatrist might order tests, adjust medicines, give injections or order braces, walkers or wheelchairs. Physiatrists often work closely with physical, occupational and speech therapists.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your care team can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
