Transcript

Hello, my name is Tala Sweiti. I'm a pharmacist.

How does prescription pick-up work?

Prescription pick-up begins with the pharmacy receiving the prescription, often sent electronically by the prescriber. Staff enter it and check insurance. A pharmacist then reviews the dose and looks for problems with other medicines on file.

Many pharmacies send a text when the prescription is ready. At the counter, staff confirm your name and date of birth, and any copay is paid. Some medicines need a photo ID. A pharmacist is usually available for questions about the medicine.

Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your service. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your pharmacist can explain what applies to your own prescriptions.

Thanks for watching.
