Hello, my name is Murilo Tessaro. I'm a pelvic floor therapist.
What happens at a first pelvic floor visit?
A first pelvic floor visit usually starts with a private talk about your symptoms, health history and goals. Questions often cover bladder and bowel habits, and any past pregnancies or surgeries.
The therapist often explains how the pelvic floor muscles work, sometimes with a model or picture. Posture, breathing and the muscles around the hips and belly may be checked. An internal exam may be offered to check these muscles directly. You can say no to it, or to any part of the exam.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your therapist can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
