Hello, my name is Dr. Jawanda. I'm an orthopedic surgeon.
What happens at an orthopedic visit?
An orthopedic visit focuses on bones, joints, muscles and the tissues that connect them. It often starts with questions about the injury or problem, such as how it happened and which movements make it worse.
The exam checks movement, strength and any tender spots. X-rays are often taken in the office, and an MRI or other imaging is sometimes ordered. Treatment might include a cast, splint or brace, physical therapy, medicines, injections or, for some problems, surgery.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your care team can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
