Hello, my name is Dr. Hadley. I'm an oral surgeon.
What happens at the consultation and 3D scan?
An oral surgery consultation is a planning visit, often after a dentist's referral. It usually starts with a review of health history, medicines and allergies.
The surgeon then examines the mouth, teeth and jaw. X-rays or a 3D scan may be taken. For a 3D scan, you stay still while the machine rotates around your head. The surgeon explains the findings, the treatment options, the choices for numbing or sedation and what recovery usually involves.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your surgeon can explain what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
