Hello, my name is Kulwinder Singh Sooch. I'm an ocularist.
What happens at a first fitting?
A first fitting often starts with the ocularist checking the eye socket and eyelids. Most custom eyes begin with a mold of the socket, taken with a soft material that sets.
From the mold, a model of the new eye is made, which may be tried in and adjusted. The iris and white of the eye are painted to match the other eye, at the same visit or a later one. The finished eye is usually made of hard acrylic, polished smooth.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your ocularist can explain how your own fitting is planned.
Thanks for watching.
