Hello, my name is Jerome. I'm an occupational therapist.
What does an OT do?
An OT, or occupational therapist, helps kids with everyday things, like playing, getting dressed and schoolwork. An OT might work on holding a pencil, cutting with scissors, or doing buttons and zippers.
Sessions often look like play. You might squeeze putty, string beads, do puzzles or swing. These games can work on hand strength and balance. When something feels too loud or too much, you can tell the OT. They can change the activity.
At the end, the OT might share a game to try at home.
