Hello, my name is Dr. Divatia. I'm an obstetrician-gynecologist.
What happens at each prenatal visit?
A prenatal visit is a regular check on a pregnant person and the baby.
Weight and blood pressure are usually checked, and a urine sample is often tested for protein and sugar. The clinician asks about any changes or concerns since the last visit. Later visits often include listening to the baby's heartbeat with a small handheld device and measuring the belly. Some visits also include blood tests, an ultrasound or vaccines.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your care team can tell you what applies to your pregnancy.
Thanks for watching.
