Hello, my name is Manjula Vyas. I'm a notary.

What should I bring to get something notarized?

A notary checks who is signing a document, then adds an official stamp or seal. Each signer usually comes in person with a current photo ID from the government, such as a driver's license, state ID card or passport.

The document comes too, often unsigned, since some must be signed in front of the notary. Many notaries also log the visit in a journal. A notary checks the signer's ID, not whether the paper itself is correct.

Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your service. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your notary can explain what applies to your own document.

Thanks for watching.
