Hello, my name is Clifford Hom. I'm a neonatal nurse.
Who is on the NICU team?
The NICU team is the group of people who care for babies who need special care after birth. A doctor called a neonatologist usually leads the team.
Each baby has a bedside nurse every shift, often the person parents see most. Respiratory therapists help with breathing support. Pharmacists, dietitians, lactation consultants, social workers and therapists may help too. In many NICUs, staff meet daily on rounds to talk through each baby's plan, and parents can often join.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your baby's care team can tell you what applies to your baby.
Thanks for watching.
