What happens at a manicure or pedicure?

A manicure or pedicure often starts with choosing a polish color. The nail technician removes any old polish, then trims and shapes your nails.

For a pedicure, your feet also soak in a basin of warm water. The technician softens and pushes back the cuticles, and many services include a hand or foot massage. Last come a base coat, the color and a top coat, with gel polish set under a lamp.
