Hello, my name is Dr. Quintela. I'm a neurologist.
What happens during a memory assessment?
A memory assessment looks at how memory and thinking are working in everyday life. It usually starts with a conversation about changes you or others have noticed and about your health history.
Next come thinking tests, often on paper or a tablet, such as remembering a list of words or drawing a clock. A family member or friend may be asked what they have noticed. Blood tests or a brain scan are sometimes ordered, and results are often discussed at a later visit.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your care team can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
