Transcript

Hello, my name is Dr. Lemaire. I'm an optometrist.

What happens at a low vision visit?

A low vision visit looks at how you use your sight for everyday tasks. It often starts with questions about what is hard to do, such as reading or cooking.

Your vision is measured with charts made for low vision, and contrast and side vision may be checked. You might then try magnifiers, special glasses, different lighting and electronic devices that enlarge print. Training or other services may also be suggested for tasks at home or work.

Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your eye doctor can explain what fits your own needs.

Thanks for watching.
