Hello, my name is Devon Ellison. I'm a respiratory therapist.
Why was my family member moved here?
A long-term acute care hospital, or LTACH, treats people who need hospital care for a longer recovery. Many come after a stay in intensive care.
Common reasons for a move include help coming off a breathing machine, care for complex wounds, or long courses of IV medicine. Doctors visit often, nurses are there day and night, and respiratory therapists help too. Therapists also help people work on strength, speech and daily skills.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your family member's care team can explain the reasons for their move.
Thanks for watching.
