Transcript

Hi, I'm Mercedes. I'm a lice technician.

What are lice?

Lice are tiny bugs that live in hair on the head. Adult lice are about the size of a sesame seed. Their eggs, called nits, stick tight to strands of hair. Lice crawl, but they cannot jump or fly.

Anyone can get lice, and having them does not mean you are dirty. At the clinic, a helper looks through your hair with a fine comb. You can sit back and keep your head still.

Then the helper combs out the lice and nits, one small section at a time.

Thanks for watching!
