Hello, my name is Sylvie Tessier. I'm an attorney.
What happens at a first consultation?
A first consultation is a meeting where a lawyer learns about a legal matter and whether the firm can help. The office often asks for the names of the people involved first, to check for conflicts with other clients.
During the meeting, the lawyer listens, asks questions and may read any documents you bring. The lawyer may explain possible options and how fees work. If both sides agree to work together, the lawyer often sends a written fee agreement.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your service. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your lawyer can explain what applies to your own matter.
Thanks for watching.
