Hello, my name is Humberto Llanes. I'm a jeweler.
How do jewelry repairs work, and how long do they take?
A jewelry repair usually starts at the counter, where a jeweler looks the piece over with a magnifying loupe. Common repairs include resizing rings, fixing chains and clasps, and tightening loose stones.
The jeweler explains the work and the price. A repair ticket often notes the metal, stones and any wear, and you keep a claim receipt. Some work happens in the store, and some goes to an outside workshop. Timing depends on the repair, and the ticket often lists a ready date.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your service. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your jeweler can explain what applies to your own piece.
Thanks for watching.
