Hello, my name is Dr. Twerefou. I'm an internist.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Many internal medicine offices ask new patients to bring a photo ID, an insurance card and a list of all their medicines. That list often includes vitamins, supplements and over-the-counter medicines.
Records from past doctors, recent test results and a written list of questions can also help. The visit often starts with forms and a check of weight and blood pressure. Then the doctor goes over the health history, does an exam and talks through next steps.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your doctor can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
