Hello, my name is Byron Jeon. I'm a radiology technologist.
What happens when I check in for a scan?
Check-in for a scan may happen at the front desk or at a self-service kiosk. Staff confirm your name, date of birth and insurance, along with the scan your clinician ordered. Forms often follow, and depending on the scan, they may ask about metal, implants, allergies or pregnancy.
Some scans involve changing into a gown and setting aside jewelry and other metal items. A technologist, who runs the scan, then checks your name and date of birth again and explains the next steps.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your care team can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
