Hello, my name is Noel Lordan. I'm a pre-op nurse.
Who is on the care team?
A hospital care team is the group of people who look after a patient during a stay. A doctor leads it, often a hospitalist who works mainly in the hospital.
Nurses give much of the hands-on care, such as checking vital signs and giving medicines. Nursing assistants help with meals, bathing and moving around. Pharmacists review medicines, and therapists may help with breathing, movement or daily tasks. A case manager or social worker often helps plan for going home.
Call the hospital if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your nurse can tell you who is on your own care team.
Thanks for watching.
