Hello, my name is Morag Weir. I'm a herbalist.
What is a tincture?
A tincture is a concentrated liquid made by soaking herbs or other plant parts to draw out some of their compounds. The liquid is most often alcohol, though some tinctures use glycerin or vinegar instead.
The plant material is then strained out, and the liquid is bottled, often in a small dark bottle with a dropper. The label usually lists the plant, the part used, the liquid and a suggested serving.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your pharmacist or doctor can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
