Hello, my name is Darlene. I'm a server.
When will my food come?
Your food comes once the cooks in the kitchen have made it. First, the server writes down everyone's order, on a pad or a screen. The order goes to the kitchen, where cooks make each dish.
Many kitchens try to have every plate for a table ready together. When it is busy, there are more orders to cook. While you wait, you can play a guessing game with your grown-up.
When it is ready, someone brings the plates and sets yours in front of you.
