Hello, my name is Dr. Kartha. I'm an endocrinologist.
What happens at a first endocrinology visit?
A first endocrinology visit often starts with forms about health history and a check of height, weight and blood pressure. The endocrinologist then asks about symptoms, past test results, family history and current medicines.
The exam may include feeling the neck to check the thyroid. People with diabetes might be asked to bring a glucose meter, pump or sensor for review. Blood or urine tests are often ordered, and the visit usually ends with a plan for next steps.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your care team can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
