Hello, my name is Dr. Neumann. I'm a cardiologist.
What happens at a first cardiology visit?
A first cardiology visit is a close look at how the heart is working. It often starts with questions about symptoms, health history and family history.
Someone on the team checks blood pressure, heart rate and weight. The cardiologist listens to the heart and lungs. Many first visits include an EKG, which records the heart's electrical signals through sticky pads on the chest, arms and legs. Other tests, such as a heart ultrasound or a heart monitor, may be planned for later.
Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your care. This is general information, not personal instructions. Your cardiologist can tell you what applies to you.
Thanks for watching.
