Hi, I'm Bisola. I'm a candy maker.
How do they make candy?
Many candies start as sugar and water, boiled in a big pot. As it bubbles, water cooks away, and the syrup gets thick.
Syrup cooked less hot makes soft candy, like fudge or caramel. Syrup cooked hotter makes hard candy. Then a little color and vanilla or mint might be stirred in.
If there is a kitchen window, you can watch from there. The hot candy is poured onto a cool table or into shaped molds. Once it cools and firms up, it is cut and wrapped.
Thanks for watching!
