Transcript

Hello, my name is Lionel Whitsett. I'm a bookseller.

Can staff suggest books for my child’s age and interests?

Bookstore staff can often suggest books that fit a child's age, reading level and interests. Children's sections are usually grouped by stage, from board books and picture books to chapter books and teen novels.

A bookseller might ask what your child likes, such as animals, sports, funny stories or mysteries, and which books were favorites. Then the bookseller might pull a few titles to look through together. Many stores also have shelves of staff picks with short handwritten notes.

Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your service. This is general information, not personal instructions. A bookseller at your store can suggest books for your own child.

Thanks for watching.
