Transcript

Hello, my name is Caio. I'm a bird keeper.

Why can’t the birds fly away?

An aviary is a big space for birds, closed in by netting or glass. The birds can fly around, but they cannot get out.

To get in, you usually go through two doors. The first door closes before the second one opens, so no bird can slip out. As you walk in, you can move slowly and look up. Then you might see birds flying overhead or sitting on branches.

In a butterfly house, staff often check you for butterflies before you leave.

Thanks for watching!
