Transcript

Hello, my name is Lamar Hong. I'm an adoption counselor.

How does the adoption process work?

Adopting from a shelter usually starts with looking at the animals, in person or through photos online. Staff can often set up time with a pet in a quiet room or yard.

Next comes an application asking about your home, routine and other pets. An adoption counselor may talk through the match and share what is known about the pet. There is usually an adoption fee and a contract to sign. Many pets go home vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered.

Call the office if you have questions about your visit or your service. This is general information, not personal instructions. The shelter's adoption staff can tell you what applies to you.

Thanks for watching.
